The
villages of Galini and Engares are on either side of the fertile
Engares valley, which has an abundant water supply. From Galini
a small road leads to the sand beach of Amitis.
Both villages have some excellent traditional tavernas. A visit
to one of those will result in a memorable evening.
The Engares valley is a maze of orchards and citrus groves bordered
by tall plants which resemble bamboo. You will find complete
peace and solitude when walking along the shaded lanes of the
valley.
